(An-Nawawi's Forty Hadiths)
(Takhreej of An-Nawawi’s Forty Hadiths)
Hadith No.17
Abu Yaala Shaddad bin Aws said that the messenger of Allah said :
"Verily Allah has prescribed proficiency in all things. Thus, if you kill, kill well; and if you slaughter, slaughter well. Let each one of you sharpen his blade and let him spare suffering to the animal he slaughters."

HADEETH SEVENTEEN:OBSERVING BENEVOLENCE

1- It is not permissible to torture or maim the animals one slaughters.
2- Kindness should be extended even to animals as they should be slaughtered well.
3- Allah has prescribed proficiency in all things.
4- Islam advocates kindness to all creatures.
5- One who slaughters an animal should:
a. Sharpen his blade
b. Spare suffering to the animal
6- Allah likes those who perform their works properly.
