Hadith No.31
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ الشَّافِعِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْجَنَدِيُّ عَنْ أَبَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا يَزْدَادُ الْأَمْرُ إِلَّا شِدَّةً وَلَا الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا إِدْبَارًا وَلَا النَّاسُ إِلَّا شُحًّا وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلَّا عَلَى شِرَارِ النَّاسِ وَلَا الْمَهْدِيُّ إِلَّا عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ
On the authority of Sahl bin Saad Al-Saedi, who said :
A man came to the prophet and said: "O Messenger of Allah, direct me to an act which, if I do it, [will cause] Allah to love me and people to love me." He said: "Renounce the world and Allah will love you, and renounce what people possess and people will love you."

HADEETH THIRTY ONE: ASCETICISM: ITS EFFECTS
1- One who renounces the world, Allah will love him.
2- One who renounces what people possess, people will love him.
3- Loving the worldly extra pleasures is the key to all evil.
4- One should seek only what suffices him and not anything more.
